Southland Friends of Labor is a political action committee that raises funds to support labor friendly candidates. I am proud to be a member of the Executive Committee. In this contentious political climate, we must insure that we start getting ready right now to elect good candidates at all levels of government. As we move into the 2020 election season, the vitriol and anti-working class rhetoric by the President is finding its way to the state and local governments. Attacks on Medicare, Social Security and the Affordable Care Act have important state implications. Federal union members are being stripped of their ability to operate through egregious Executive Orders. What more do we need to see? Now is the time to get involved locally. We need to get educated, coordinated and ready to insure that our message get out and become part of inclusive policy at all levels of government.
